Russia Says It Took Control of Two Ukrainian Villages in Donetsk
(MENAFN) On Saturday, Russia announced that its forces had taken control of two settlements in Ukraine’s Donetsk region within the last 24 hours.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the villages of Seredne and Kleban Byk were captured following operations by the Southern and Western military groups.
In its statement, the ministry detailed that Russian aviation, drones, missile units, and artillery targeted a Ukrainian military-industrial complex along with temporary positions held by Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters in 143 locations.
In response to Ukrainian air raids, the ministry reported that Russian air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed four guided aerial bombs and 160 drones over the past week.
Kyiv has yet to issue a response to these claims, and independent verification remains challenging amid the ongoing conflict.
